Christmas on Nantucket

David and I escaped to Nantucket for a couple of days and it was wonderful!  I'm thinking this may need to be an annual tradition.  Nantucket had their Christmas stroll the previous weekend but this past weekend, most of the shops were still open and had steep discounts (in the 50% to 75% off range).

We stayed at the Carlisle House Inn which is a short walk to the shops and restaurants.

Our fireplaced room at the Carlisle House Inn (sigh)

The off season gives a whole different feel to Nantucket.  We walked along the cobblestone streets and drank in the beauty of the architecture.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful
and joyful holiday season!

  1. Nantucket looks to be historically fascinating, and so pretty! Even the name Nantucket, evokes a sense of history... Here in Canada we do not have as many historical place, so sad...I find my self peeking into the posts of our neighbours in the US.to satisfy my antique apatite ...lovely post and blog...I'm off to read more.

    1. Hi Tracy, Thanks!!! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the post. I love historic homes of all ages. Do you have older homes from the 1920's or 30's near you? I find myself watching the movie A Christmas Story, just so I can drool over the scenes with their 1930's kitchen.
